The Artist’s Studio Unit
We’ve designed the Artist’s Studio Unit so that you can express your creativity at any time. The artist’s studio unit is made up of 3 worktops and a number of modular drawers that you can choose to suit your activity.
– Top Plate
Tilt and height-adjustable for maximum comfort, whether seated or standing. It can be used as an easel, drawing table, or writing surface.
– Sliding Side Plate
Slides smoothly to the left or right, allowing both right- and left-handed users to find a convenient spot for their equipment. This plate keeps brushes, palettes, pencils, and other tools within easy reach while working. You can also use this sliding plate as a tray when working on your computer. Additionally, the optional auxiliary shelf can be positioned on this plate, either on the left or right side, providing extra workspace or storage as needed.
– The lower tray
By sliding the bottom shelf forward, you can sit down comfortably to carry out your work. This shelf also provides a practical place to store your equipment, keeping the other shelves free.
The unit is composed of interchangeable drawer modules, selected from a choice of 14 modules (see ‘Drawer modules’). With these different formats, you can adapt the unit to your storage needs, whatever your creative activity.
In the model shown, drawer module number 3 spans the full width and depth of the unit, accomodating sheets up to 23.6 x 31.5 in (60 x 80 cm).
Thanks to its double-roller castors, the Artist’s Studio Unit is easy to maneuver.
Whether natural or artificial, good lighting is essential for any activity. Its mobility allows you to position the unit in the best light for each task.
Moving it from a storage area to an open workspace is also simple and quick.
Are the locking support arms on the Artist’s Studio Unit sturdy?
Yes, a single locking support arm is enough to ensure the stability of the top work surface in the easel position, regardless of the angle. We equip the Artist’s Studio Unit with two locking support arms to make adjusting the angle of the top work surface easier. Their locking positions allow you to work safely whether the work surface is horizontal or vertical.
How do I tilt and lower the top work surface?
To tilt the top work surface, simply lift it. As you lower it slowly, the locking support arms engage with the locking pins.
To lower the top work surface, lift it slightly to disengage the locking support arms, then lower it more firmly.
Where can I put my knees when painting?
There are two ways to work comfortably while seated at the Artist’s Studio Unit.
If you are sitting on a high stool, you will work on the top work surface. When working on a flat surface, the top work surface slides 40 cm (15.7 in) towards you. When working in the easel position, tilting the work surface automatically brings it forward, allowing you to position your legs comfortably.
If you are working at a standard desk height, the lower work surface slides towards you, allowing you to sit comfortably. You can see these different working positions in the “The Unit in Use” section and watch the Artist’s Studio Unit video to see it in action.
What do you recommend for storing my canvases?
For storing your canvases, stretcher frames and paintings, explore our “Storage Furniture & Collections” section. There you’ll find our Art Storage System, designed to protect, organise and store your artwork vertically while keeping it easily accessible.

Our furniture are delivered assembled, packaged and placed on a pallet.
If it is necessary to climb stairs, because of gravel, to take it into a room with a narrow passageway, etc., it is very easy to lighten the furniture by removing the drawers and trays; this simple operation only takes a few minutes.
