Anne-Marie and Martial Becquart have been based in Normandy since 1995.
are the founders and managers of the company.
It is perhaps because he is self-taught in woodworking that Martial stands out in the trade.
Indeed, Martial has always had an affinity with the warm, living material that is wood. At the age of 15, he bought a small wood-burning stove. Despite this, he went on to study industry and began his career in production organisation, first in wool, then in cardboard.
In 1995, he decided to return to his passion and opened his own cabinet-making business, Auboi. Renowned for the quality of his furniture, Martial has been awarded the ‘Artisan d'Art menuisier’ and ‘Artisan d'Art Ébéniste’ labels.
Martial's other passions include painting and Qi Gong. In painting, he first worked with pastels, before discovering ink.
He has been practising Qi Gong for many years, and now offers courses.
As an educator of young children, I worked for several years in this sector, particularly with children and teenagers in difficulty.
When Martial opened his cabinet-making business, we had three young children (aged 5, 3 and 1). I decided to stay with them and help Martial with the administrative tasks and by taking part in a number of trade fairs.
In 2004, when Martial created the meuble atelier concept, my involvement became full-time. The concept could only be rolled out through the development of the website and communications.
Today, I'm responsible for the company's administrative management, communications and the layout of the website you're reading.
My passions are sewing to create, cooking to share and reading every day!
In 2006, Romain distinguished himself by winning the departmental bronze medal in the ‘One of France's Best Apprentices’ competition in cabinetmaking.
Three years later, his passion and dedication propelled him to a national gold medal in the ‘Best Apprentice in France’ category for chair joinery in 2009.
Romain joined Auboi in October 2010.
His rigour and perfectionism are reflected not only in his work, but also in his receptiveness to regular praise from our customers.
Outside his job, Romain is a keen athlete, playing competitive football and tennis. His love of gardening is not limited to the vegetable garden, but also encompasses decorative plants, testifying to his vast knowledge of different species.
As an avid visitor to plant shows, such as the Chantilly Plant Days, Romain cultivates his interest in nature.
A keen cook, Romain loves to entertain, sharing his culinary passion with conviviality and creativity in his delicious dishes. What's more, a keen gourmet, he's happy to share his culinary discoveries, enthusiastically exchanging the good addresses of restaurants he visits at the weekend.
After completing her work-linked BTS as an Executive Assistant with our company, Chloé joined us on a full-time basis in September 2022.
She's often the one on the phone when you call. Chloé divides her work between commercial relations with our French customers and her responsibilities as Executive Assistant.
With her natural curiosity, Chloé is interested in the various activities practised by our customers, such as painting, sewing, bookbinding, origami and scrapbooking, to name but a few.
She's always on hand to find out what's going on so that we can understand your requirements.
Simon
Son of Anne-Marie and Martial, has joined the team. He is involved in international trade and deputising for the company’s management.
Simon is a multi-faceted enthusiast who stands out for his creativity in a variety of fields.
As an artist, he amazes with his unique creations. His ability to express his artistic vision in a variety of forms is testament to his versatility and commitment to creative expression.
An avid board and video game player, Simon immerses himself in captivating virtual worlds. His passion for games also extends to the world of Warhammer, where, with patience and meticulousness, he paints each of the miniatures that will take part in the tournaments.
A keen traveller, he explores mountains and faraway lands, savouring adventure at every step as he connects with the world around him.
